THE STORY OF MRS. CROMLEY’S FAMOUS PEANUT CLUSTERS
(AND COOKBOOK).

During the Rocky Hock Playhouse Valentines dinner theatre show in 2002 Gloria Emmerich thought that the patrons might like to sample her secret “peanut cluster” recipe. So, she whipped up a batch and served them up to the guests. They were a HUGE HIT! Folks came back for our Easter musical and wondered where the clusters were. It was then that the idea to produce the clusters in quantity came to Gloria. Why not box them properly and make the clusters available to all the theatre guests?!

Ah, but where does Mrs. Cromley come into the picture you ask? Well, in 2000 Gloria Emmerich created and originated the character of Mrs. Cromley for the first Rocky Hock Playhouse Christmas musical. Angel Cromley (slightly wacky and very fun) has become a beloved perennial character in every Christmas show since. (Rocky Hock Christmas musicals always begin with the modern Cromley family who eventually go back in time to tell the Biblical story of the birth of Christ.) So, when Christmas 2002 rolled around, and since her clusters had become so “famous,” Gloria came up with the idea of packaging the clusters and giving them the name: Mrs. Cromley’s Famous Peanut Clusters.

In the years since, untold thousands of clusters have been hand made by Gloria and sold to the Rocky Hock Playhouse patrons. Then, orders began to come in from Virginia and Pennsylvania so she wanted to make the clusters available to people who wished to give them as gifts. That is where you come in!! Order away and be assured that Mrs. Cromley’s Famous Peanut Clusters are STILL carefully and lovingly hand made and packaged by Gloria Emmerich—Mrs. Cromley herself!

In 2006 Gloria wrote a cookbook that was appropriately titled Mrs. Cromley’s World Famous Cookbook. It contains over 250 recipes collected by Gloria over the years. She was raised in the small fishing village of Newport, Oregon and loved those good ol' church potlucks. Many of the recipes in the book are those of the dear saints from Newport who wrote down their wonderful Oregon Coast recipes that would otherwise perhaps be lost—except for Mrs. Cromley’s World Famous Cookbook! The book is peppered (as it were) with stories of life in Oregon and many of Gloria’s “famous” limericks to keep you laughing in the kitchen as you enjoy the timeless recipes in this marvelous book. Jacob, Prince of God

Musical Description

Love, intrigue, deception, sibling rivalry, fraud, restoration — it all sounds like the evening news, right? But no, this story comes to us from the book of Genesis and took place thousands of years ago. Jacob, Prince of God is the story of the most famous twins in the Bible: Jacob and Esau. They were born in ancient Israel where the custom of the day was for the eldest son to receive one hundred percent of his father’s wealth through what was called a “birthright.” Esau was the firstborn twin but Jacob tricked him out of his rightful inheritance, birthright, AND their father’s blessing. Angered, and seeking revenge, Esau vowed to kill Jacob who was then forced to leave home and spend years running from Esau. Despite his flawed character God blessed Jacob in every way possible. The famous story of Jacob and Esau is brought to life in this full length musical by Gloria Emmerich. The music is unparalleled and the finale will make you stand up and cheer!

Musical Description

Who was this boy in the field tending sheep? What childhood visions and rapturous, heavenly worship did he cherish in the recesses of his mind and memory, then carry into adulthood? David was a child of vision and a man of resolution and determination. His passions, sometimes nearly out of control, were constantly harnessed and redirected by the living God of Israel. As shepherd, as warrior, as friend, as husband, and as king, David was filled with zeal. He was wounded in spirit by Saul’s jealousy, Jonathan’s death, and Michal’s betrayal. But, never ever was he defeated. David made mistakes, yet his heart was full of adoration for the Father. No one else in scripture was ever portrayed as, “A man after God’s own heart.” We have so much to learn from the Sweet Psalmist of Israel.
