The road Jesus
traveled to Calvary was surely a lonely one.
Jesus had many friends who
appear in our story. Mary, Martha, Lazarus, the disciples,
and many others were ministered to during the three and a
half years of His time on earth. He laughed, cried, and
ultimately died for the very people who turned their backs
on Him in His greatest hour of need. Our reenactments of
Gethsemane, Calvary, and the resurrection are powerful, and
the finale is guaranteed to bring you to your feet.

A tiny village; a lonely stable;
No one suspected that God was able.
Born in a manger in Bethlehem;
A star from Heaven shines down upon Him. . .
lyrics by Gloria Emmerich
Jesus came into the world as a tiny baby. Mary and Joseph
were surely full of hope and admiration and awe for the
Father in Heaven for bestowing upon them this magnificent
responsibility in that cold lonely stable so long ago in
Bethlehem. Surely they knew in their heart of hearts that
their lives were never going to be the same again. This new
musical by Gloria Emmerich will take you back to a time when
life was perhaps not as simple as we sometimes imagine.
You’ll revisit the moment in time that changed history
forever when Gabriel appeared to Mary and tells her she is
to become the mother of God’s own son. And, you’ll
experience the powerful emotions that must surely have been
born in the hearts of Joseph, Mary’s parents, and many
members of their village who likely doubted Mary’s story.
Mary’s parents must certainly have been dazed by her story
about the angel. Joseph loved Mary but at first considered
secretly divorcing her when he learned she was pregnant.
But, an angel visited him in a dream and a revelation from
God was born in his own heart. The Christmas story will
come alive in the beautiful Rocky Hock Playhouse in November and December. Shepherds and wise
men adored Him… so will you.
